This was East Dunbartonshire Council’s pilot Community Hub project, and was created within the William Patrick Library.
It involved the renovation and remodelling of an existing 1990s library to open up the hub facility into its atrium by completely removing an existing fire screen, allowing the hub facilities to be readily accessible and welcoming to the public.
The main foyer was redesigned to promote a more relaxed atmosphere and a new café space strategically links the waiting area with the library to allow a seamless flow of spaces throughout the whole building.
Attractive glass-sided meeting spaces are accessed off the main waiting area which can be passively monitored by staff.
The hub’s aesthetic was developed with Graven Images and is crisp, bright and fresh, with clear branding and signage throughout.
