Laurieston Phase 2

This private residential development for Urban Union Ltd forms phase 2 of the large scale regeneration of Laurieston in Glasgow, one of Glasgow City Council’s Transformational Regeneration Areas (TRA). The proposals comprise of 173 dwellings in a mix of 4-6-storey flatted blocks and 3-storey town houses.

The proposed housing layout has been considered in accordance with GCC Planning Policy RES2, and aims to create a high quality residential neighbourhood which is attractive to live in. The proposals also include the first phase of a new Linear Park, which is currently being designed in conjunction with local residents.

A large proportion of living rooms have been designed to face south or west, taking advantage of the desirable solar aspect. All houses are provided with usable private garden spaces, while flatted blocks incorporate private balconies and share a communal ‘back court’ amenity space with the townhouses. The materiality and proportions of the elevations aim to maintain the high quality set by the two phases of the development.

The development achieves Bronze Standard under the 2013 Building Regulations, Ecohomes Very Good Standard and is compliant with Housing for Varying Needs.
