We worked collaboratively with Scottish Canals, Highland Council, Kevin Murray Associates and MLA to develop and facilitate a series of charrette workshops.
The charrette focused on an area to the north of Inverness between the Muirtown Basin (under the ownership of Scottish Canals), and the mouth of the River Ness. We were involved in formulating the charrette structure, focusing on the wider area for the development framework and contributing illustrations of the area.
Working with Scottish Canals, Kevin Murray and MLA we facilitated workshops in a local community centre and led a ‘walking conversation’ through the wider South Kessock area.
At the end of the two days we produced design approaches for the area – including ideas for a wildlife centre, improved path network and new housing. We worked with Highland Council to incorporate these into a local development framework, further refining our proposals after discussion with Scottish Canals and Highland Council.
