Tinto Primary School and Nursery

This primary school and nursery is part of the Three Primary Schools project for Glasgow City Council.

The development is located on the site of an existing school in a suburban area of South Glasgow, and combines the existing school roll with that of several other primary schools in the area, as well as a local nursery.  

It has space for over 500 primary pupils and 130 nursery pupils.

The new building is designed to create a civic landmark in a suburban area otherwise devoid of civic buildings or spaces.  

Its public side faces directly on to the street while its private side - for use by the school – has a spectacular south facing,  sheltered, safe play courtyard.

The new facility is also a community hub, with the assembly hall, an artificial pitch and a number of classrooms all available for community use during evenings and weekends.
